All incoming and re-admitted students must satisfy TB screening and immunization requirements as mandated by the UC Office of the President by the established deadlines.

- October 1, 2024: Enrollment holds for non-compliance for TB and Immunizations (NOT including COVID-19) posted to Cal Central (impacts Spring 2025 enrollment)
- Late Fall 2024: There will likely be a seasonal flu vaccine requirement, once the 2024-25 flu vaccine is released (late Fall 2024). No action is needed at this time.

- January 1, 2024: First day of SHIP and UHS eligibility at student pricing; First day to schedule appointments for missing vaccines/titers
- February 1, 2024: Late fees for non-compliance for TB and Immunizations (NOT including COVID-19 and Flu). MFE, Executive LLM, and On-campus/online MPH programs will NOT get a late fee assessed.
- March 1, 2024: Enrollment holds for non-compliance for TB and Mandatory Immunizations posted to Cal Central (impacts Summer and Fall 2024 enrollment). Concurrent enrollment students will not get an enrollment hold for non-compliance with TB and immunization requirements. But we strongly recommend that you complete all these requirements before coming to campus.
Steps to Complete Requirements
- See your formal deadline to comply.
- Log into the eTang Portal and go to the “Medical Clearances” page.
- Complete the TB requirements.
- Complete the "TB Screening Questions" on eTang under "Medical Clearances."
- Submit additional documentation, if necessary.
- Complete the immunization items by entering your immunization dates or titer results in eTang under "Medical Clearances."
- Note: only enter immunization or titer information that appears on your records.
- You will need to click ‘Update’ on the line for each item to enter your immunization dates.
- If you do not have the vaccines or immunization record, you will need to obtain the vaccines.
- Upload your immunization or titer records by clicking 'Update' on the line for 'Immunization Record’.
- You must upload medical records in English for each immunization and/or titer that you have entered on the eTang portal.
- Read more about the required age, dose, and interval parameters for each vaccine requirement:
- MMR Measles, Mumps & Rubella
- Varicella (Chicken Pox)
- Tdap (Pertussis)
- Meningococcal Conjugate
- COVID-19 (includes an opt-out/declination option)
- Check your compliance status on eTang by selecting "Medical Clearances."
- Schedule any outstanding vaccines/titers as soon as possible with your medical provider.
- On the eTang Portal, you will also see a list of RECOMMENDED vaccines, this is separate from the required ones listed above, however, we strongly recommend you also get those as well.
Please note the following:
- There are no religious exemptions for the Varicella, MMR, Pertussis, or Meningococcal conjugate requirements per the UCOP immunization policy.
- TB testing can now be done without regard to the timing of COVID-19 vaccinations. The timing for TB testing after a live virus vaccine (MMR and Varicella) still needs to be one month.
- Students who are not fully compliant with all Mandatory TB & Immunization Requirements by the formal deadline may have a late fee and an enrollment block placed on their account for the following semester (see deadlines below).
- Concurrent enrollment students will not get an enrollment hold for non-compliance with TB and Immunization requirements.
- Students who falsify any immunization or TB screening information that is submitted will not be compliant with the requirements and may face disciplinary action if found to have violated the Berkeley Campus Code of Student Conduct (see Section V, Grounds for Discipline).
