Appointments

University Health Services has several types of clinics tailored to meet the needs of busy UC Berkeley students.

Schedule online via eTang or call (510) 642-2000 - press option 2 - to schedule between 8 am-4:45 pm.

Advice Nurse	If you have a medical question, need home-care advice, or are unsure about which services are best for you, speak with the 24/7 Advice Nurse. Call (510) 643-7197 or send a secure message through eTang. After hours, SHIP members can call the 24/7 Nurse Line at (800) 681-4065.
Drop-In Appointments Not scheduled online	Urgent Care For urgent medical problems, you can call our Advice Nurse Line at (510) 643-7197 or come directly to Urgent Care to speak to a Triage Nurse in person. Pre-scheduled Appointments Referral from a UHS clinician is REQUIRED	Physical Therapy: Call (510) 642-0607 or come to Physical Therapy, 3rd floor of Tang Center. Specialty Clinic: With a referral from your UHS clinician, the Tang Center offers the services of specialist physicians in: Dermatology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology (ENT), Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Repetitive Stress Injuries, Sports Medicine, and Urology. Call (510) 643-7177 (or come to the Specialty Clinic appointment desk, located on the first floor) to schedule an appointment. See the Specialty webpage for fees and more info.

If you need to:

Check when/where your appointment is scheduled	If you can't remember the day and time of your appointment, call (510) 642-2000 for most types of appointments or (510) 643-7177 if you know the appointment is with a specialist.
Cancel an appointment	Call (510) 643-7033, 24 hours a day, to cancel an appointment. You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or you will be billed a Late Cancellation Fee or No Show Fee. If you scheduled an appointment online, you can also cancel it through eTang.
Request a specific clinician	You are automatically assigned a Primary Care Provider. You can request a specific clinician if you have someone in mind, or you can explain your need or problem when making an appointment.
Crisis/emergency	For life-threatening emergencies, call 911. See Emergency and Crisis for specific emergencies and/or crises, what to do, and referrals. When UHS is closed, check the resources provided on our Emergency and Crisis webpage or you may call our 24/7 Advice Nurse Line at (510) 643-7197 for referrals. Berkeley SHIP members who'd like to speak to a nurse when we are closed may contact the 24/7 Nurse Line at (800) 681-4065.
Eligibility	All registered students are eligible to receive care at University Health Services, regardless of type of health insurance coverage. There are fees for Primary Care and Urgent Care visits, procedures, lab tests, x-rays, and medications if they are indicated. See Fees for Medical Care for more information.
