Professional health educators and student volunteers deliver a broad range of free services to the campus community.

Consultation & Training

We bring health promotion expertise to campus and community colleagues around critical student health issues, both individually and through key campus committees, such as: 

We deliver staff and student trainings on critical student health issues. Past topics include responsible beverage service, health needs of men who have sex with men (MSM), how to take a sexual history, etc.

Educational Materials

We provide health information in print to augment direct patient services at UHS and to serve as an introduction to key campus health messages. Materials include patient education brochures (e.g. stress, immunizations, sexual assault, etc.) as well as numerous health campaigns.

Health Coaching

We offer 45-minute health coaching appointments to assist students in setting concrete health goals and making lifestyle changes, in areas such as stress management, sexuality, and nutrition, as well as a wellness self-coaching resource.

HIV Antibody Testing

We conduct monthly rapid HIV antibody testing through the Sexual Health Education Program's Sexpert Education Clinic. Testing is free and anonymous with results provided in 30 minutes. Schedule now or drop in; space is limited and clients will be tested on a first come, first served basis.

Massage Chairs

We offer two massage chairs as part of the Campus REST Zones initiative, encouraging students to slow down and take a break during their busy days. Chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Outreach Events

We host and participate in events on campus throughout the year, such as National Condom Day, Pet Hugs, Sexual Health Awareness Week, and many more. Check the UHS calendar for upcoming events.

Residential Health & Wellness Services

We train and support peer health educators through the Health Worker Program to promote healthy personal and community practices within their campus living centers. Health Workers provide weekly Health Tips, educational workshops, and individual health promotion advising.

Sexual Health Education

We provide comprehensive sexual health education to support students in feeling comfortable with their bodies and making informed decisions about their sex and sexuality, including whether or not to be sexually active. Key services include health coaching and the Sexual Health Education Program.

Workshops

We facilitate discussions and lead presentations for campus organizations, living centers, and academic classes on topics such as alcohol education and party risk management, multicultural student health issues, safer sex and sexual health, and stress and resilience.
