Stretch & Flex

What is Stretch & Flex?

This program provides staff with a structured way to warm up and stretch at the beginning of the work shift. Exercising before starting work prepares the body for the physical demands of daily tasks.

Videos of Exercises

  • Warm-up for Work video - Warm-up exercises move all of the major joints in the body to activate muscles and prepare for activity. Do them slowly and with control.
  • Stretch for Work video - These stretches target all the major muscle groups in the body.  When you stretch, be gentle so that you feel a sensation that is easy to tolerate and not pain.  Hold each stretch for 20-30 seconds, without bouncing, to reduce muscle tension.

Posters of Exercises

  • Work Warm-up Poster - Warm-up exercises move all of the major joints in the body to activate muscles and prepare for activity. Do them slowly and with control.

Food Pantry

About the Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is an emergency food relief supply for all UC Berkeley students (undergraduate and graduate), staff, visiting scholars, researchers, postdocs, and faculty. Go to the Check-in desk at the b-North entrance, in the MLK Student Union 1st floor, near the stairs to upper Sproul Plaza. Visitors are welcome to come once per week and take as much as needed while being mindful that it is a shared community resource for emergencies. The Pantry operates on a self-assessed need basis. There are no eligibility requirements and all you need is your Cal ID.

UC Berkeley Food Pantry is located at MLK Student Union, 2495 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94704. Visit the Berkeley Food Pantry website

How to Access the Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is now using QLess! Join the line by clicking this link: Basic Needs Center QLESS

  • What is QLess? QLess is a web-based system where you can wait in a virtual line rather than an in-person line. We are only taking those who join the QLess line, but you can join with or without a phone!
  • How does QLess work? Once you join our virtual QLess line, you will receive a text message when it's time for you to come to the Food Pantry! Once you arrive, you scan your Cal ID card and continue through the Pantry.
  • How do I join the QLess line? You can join in 3 ways: signing up on the iPad at the Food Pantry, scanning the QR code near the Food Pantry, or using this link: Basic Needs Center QLESS.
  • You can only join the QLess Line once the Food Pantry opens.
