Joan Hauser joined UHS in 2015, assumed the role of RN Collaborative Care Manager in 2017, and transitioned into the Specialty Nurse Manager position in 2019. She received her BSN from Samuel Merritt University (2008) and her MPH from the University of San Francisco (2014). Joan has a special clinical interest in providing whole-person care and behavioral/ mental health. |

Carrie Whitaker, RN, PHN Infection Control and Prevention Nurse |
Carrie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA; a Master of Public Health (MPH) within the Infectious Disease and Vaccinology Division at UC Berkeley School of Public Health; and has practiced as a Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse (CWON) since 2012, with her training accomplished at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio TX. She has practiced in acute care Medical-Surgical, home health, and public health nursing.
Before joining UHS, Carrie worked as a Nurse Consultant at both the CA Department of Public Health and the CA Department of Health Care Services, focused on population health management, quality assurance/quality improvement, provider outreach and education, and patient advocacy. Carrie's specialties are in public health nursing, healthcare-associated infection prevention, teaching, and population health. She has a passion for public health communications and human-centered, community-informed, health program design.
In her free time, Carrie loves spending time with friends and family, traveling, bicycles/motorcycles, camping, dancing, and seeing a good movie in the theater.
