Shelly BachhuberMA III - Specialty Clinic Shelly decided to re-enter the workforce and return to medical assisting after being a stay-at-home mom for 25 years. She has many grand animals that she loves visiting (eight kitties, two horses, and three dogs) and she always has a picture or two to share. Her favorite hobby is working in the yard, but battling with gophers, gophers, and many more gophers is NOT her favorite!

Lisa BellPronouns: She/her MA III - Primary Care Lisa joined UHS in 2005 and she's worked at the Appointment Office, Primary Care, Specialty, Urgent Care, and Occupational Health. She loves dancing, good music, entertaining her family and close friends, and admits to being a very good cook. Lisa is married to the man of her dreams and they have a cat, Nipsey, that they adore and love to spoil. Lisa and her husband are both believers in Christ Jesus. |

Robyn BergunioPronouns: She/her MA I - Primary Care Robyn completed her Medical Assistant training program at Unitek College in Concord and her Phlebotomy training at Bay Area Medical Academy in San Francisco. She received her Medical Assistant certification through the CCBMA (California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants) in 2018 and her Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT-1) in February of 2022. Robyn has clinical experience working in Optometry and Women's Health/Fertility. In her spare time, Robyn enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and walking her dog. |

Jacob GiesbrechtPronouns: He/him/his Medical Assistant - Occupational Health Jacob joined UHS in 2024 as a Medical Assistant in the Occupational Health Department. He started his Medical Assistant profession at John Muir and worked in a few different sites. Jacob has experience working at a COVID testing site, Pediatrics, and Urgent Care. |

Maria DelgadilloMA II - Urgent Care Maria Delgadillo joined UHS in 2013. Overall, she’s been an MA for 15 years working the majority of the time in urgent care and also internal medicine, sports medicine, occupational health, primary care, women's health, pediatrics, and vaccine clinics. Maria graduated with an MA from Merritt College and she’s also certified as a phlebotomist, orthopedic technician, and surgical technologist. Maria loves working in the Urgent Care department because every day is different. She enjoys helping patients feel better when they come in in so much pain and being part of a team that can impact patients with compassionate care. Maria loves her job at UHS taking care of students and being part of a place that feels like family. When not at work, Maria loves watching movies and spending time with her daughters, husband, and family. She’s a cat lover and currently has five beautiful cats who are like family. Maria DuranPronouns: She/her MA II - Primary Care Maria attended Webster Career College for her MA and BAMA for CPT1. Before joining UHS in 2016, she worked at US HealthWorks in Berkeley and Chevron Refinery Medical Services in Richmond (Occupational Clinic) for nine years. Currently, Maria works closely with eating disorder patients and she loves giving injections, doing procedures, and training new staff members. In her free, time she enjoys going out to eat with family and assisting with every single one of her boys' soccer games. Additional Languages: Spanish |

Monica GonzalezMA II - Primary Care Monica Gonzalez joined the Primary Care Team in late 2021. She received her MA training at Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health in Richmond, CA, where she also received certification as an ECG technician. Monica finds purpose by serving her community and underserved populations. While not at UHS, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling to new destinations, and spending time with her family. |

He also went to Diablo Valley College and took Anatomy and Physiology. James finds healthcare work rewarding because he can play a big part in helping patients get well. In his free time, James enjoys visiting family, reading books, listening to music, watching sports, and camping. |

Maria PerezHospital Assistant, Primary Care & Urgent Care Maria Perez joined the UHS Custodial team in 2018 and transitioned to the role of Hospital Assistant. Maria now supports doctors and patients in all clinics by promoting a clean, safe, and healthy environment. She's currently in school completing her prerequisites for nursing school. Before joining UHS, Nova was working as an MA for Stanford Healthcare. Vicki TranPer Diem Vicki received her Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from the NHA. She had previously worked as a medical assistant at a Primary Care- Internal Medicine Private Practice. Vicki has a clinical interest in primary care, psychiatry, and working with underserved populations. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, taking short walks, and spending time with her cat Nemo. She enjoys engaging in meaningful conversations and connecting with people.
