Jocelyn Chang, PT, DPT, OCS |
Jocelyn Chang joined UHS in 2019 as a Physical Therapist. She received her BPH from UC Berkeley and her DPT from the University of Southern California. She then completed an Orthopedic Residency at Stanford Healthcare. Jocelyn has a special clinical interest in movement science, re-education, orthopedics, and injury prevention. She was a co-author on the publication “Demographics, Activity Level, and Shoulder Health History of Populations Participating in CrossFit: A Descriptive Analysis” and is part of an ongoing study on the prevalence of shoulder pain and disability in youth competitive swimmers. Jeff Chen, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCSPhysical Therapist |
Jeff Chen joined UHS in 2014 as a Physical Therapist. He received his BA in Mathematics from NYU and his DPT from Columbia University. A native New Yorker, Jeff gained experience treating brain injury and spinal cord patients at Bellevue Hospital before moving to California in 2012. Prior to joining the UHS, he worked in an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Marin County. Jeff has a special clinical interest in sports medicine and injury prevention. |

Matthew Garet, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT, CSCSPhysical Therapist |
Matthew Garret received his BA in Excercise Science from George Washington University (2000) and his DPT from Duke University (2004). Before joining UHS, Matthew worked in an outpatient orthopedic and sports therapy clinic in the Washington, DC area. He has a special clinical interest in manual therapy, sports medicine, and general orthopedics. |

Liz Nguyen received both her undergraduate degree and DPT from Mount St. Mary's University. She completed a one-year residency in Orthopedics and a one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine at Kaiser in Los Angeles. She's an avid runner. |

Mary Popylisen, PT, MSPT, ATCPhysical Therapist Physical Therapy Manager |
Mary Popylisen joined UHS in 2000 as the Physical Therapy Manager. She received her BS in Biological Sciences from UC Davis and her MSPT from the University of the Pacific. Prior to joining UHS, Mary worked at the Children’s Hospital in Oakland and completed a post-graduate year-long orthopedic manual therapy course. She has a special clinical interest in manual therapy and sports medicine and she's also a Certified Athletic Trainer. |

Debra DiasClinic Assistant |
Debra Dias received her AS in Medical Assisting from Heald College in 2012. She spent six years in Primary Care at UHS before switching to Physical Therapy. Debra has written and published two children's books, both based on her daughter. In her spare time, she loves playing with her dog, Lady, and taking her family to Disneyland. Debra loves anything and all things Disney and would be happy to answer any Disney questions or share helpful tips when it comes to planning your next Disneyland vacation. |

Thomas O’Melia is taking a year off from school to plan his next steps while filling in at at the registration desk in the Physical Therapy Department. Before arriving at UHS, Thomas travelled extensively through Europe. Thomas is an avid soccer fan, as both a player and a spectator. He also enjoys adventuring, trying new sports, and skiing. Previously, Thomas worked at a gym in nearby Alamo, CA. Additional Language: Norwegian |

Kymberly received her AS in Medical Assisting from Heald College. She has been a medical assistant for 14 years. Kymberly joined UHS in 2006 first working in Urgent Care and Primary Care. After working in both departments, she moved to the Physical Therapy department. She enjoys traveling, photography, watching sports and spending time with her family. Additional Languages: Spanish |
