Jocelyn Chang PT

Jocelyn Chang, PT, DPT, OCS

Pronouns: She/her/hers

Physical Therapist

Jocelyn Chang joined UHS in 2019 as a Physical Therapist. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. She then completed an Orthopedic Residency at Stanford Healthcare. Before joining UHS she worked at UCSF and taught in the orthopedic residency program. Jocelyn has a special clinical interest in movement science and re-education, injury prevention, and rock climbing rehab.

Jeff Chen

Jeff Chen, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS

Physical Therapist

Jeff Chen joined UHS in 2014 as a Physical Therapist. He received his BA in Mathematics from NYU and his DPT from Columbia University. A native New Yorker, Jeff gained experience treating brain injury and spinal cord patients at Bellevue Hospital before transitioning primarily to outpatient orthopedics since moving to California. Jeff has a special clinical interest in sports medicine and injury prevention. 

Matt Garet

Matthew Garet, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT, CSCS

Physical Therapist

Matthew Garet received his BS in Exercise Science from George Washington University (2000) and his DPT from Duke University (2004). Before joining UHS in 2015, Matthew worked in an outpatient orthopedic and sports therapy clinic in the Washington, DC area. He has a special clinical interest in manual therapy, sports medicine, and general orthopedics.

Carly Mills, PT, DPT

Pronouns: She/her/hers

Physical Therapist

Carly Mills joined UHS in 2022 as a Physical Therapist. She received her BS in Biology from UCLA and her DPT from Samuel Merritt University. After graduating, she worked at Stanford University's student health center for 2 years before moving around the US as a travel physical therapist. Her clinical interests include general orthopedics, pain science, and manual therapy.  

Mary Popylisen

Mary Popylisen, PT, MSPT, ATC

Pronouns: She/her/hers

Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Manager

Mary Popylisen joined UHS in 2000 as the Physical Therapy Manager. She received her BS in Biological Sciences from UC Davis and her MSPT from the University of the Pacific. Before joining UHS, Mary worked at the Children’s Hospital in Oakland and completed a post-graduate year-long orthopedic manual therapy course. She has a special clinical interest in manual therapy and sports medicine and she's also a Certified Athletic Trainer.

Shannon Tevenan, PT, DPT

Pronouns: She/her/hers

Shannon Tevenan PT, DPT received her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Cal State Long Beach and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from George Washington University. As part of her clinical education, Shannon spent four months in Sydney, Australia training with various manual therapy techniques and working with men's and women's semi-professional Australian Football and Netball teams. Before joining UHS in 2022, she worked in New England Baptist Hospital's Outpatient Rehab and Sports Performance Center in Boston, MA. Her clinical interests include orthopedic/manual therapy, pain neuroscience education, and return-to-sport rehabilitation.

You'll see Debra Dias and Melissa Gonzalez at the Physical Therapist reception area where they'll help with your appointments and modality set-ups.

Debra Dias

Clinic Assistant

Debra Dias received her AS in Medical Assisting from Heald College in 2012. She spent six years in Primary Care at UHS before switching to Physical Therapy. Debra received her BS in Nutrition in 2023 through Purdue University Global and is currently working on her Master in Public Health. 
Debra has written and published two children's books. In her spare time, she loves playing with her kids, Ariel and Travis, and her dogs, Lady and Peach, and taking her family to Disneyland. Debra loves anything and all things Disney and would be happy to answer any Disney questions or share helpful tips when it comes to planning your next Disneyland vacation.
