Neurodivergence
Here are some resources that can provide more information about neurodiversity. If you have any questions or would like to discuss these resources in further detail, please contact Employee Assistance to make an appointment.
- Neurodivergent Insights - Dr. Megan Neff is a neurodivergent (Autistic-ADHD) clinician, parent, & advocate. Dr. Neff's Venn diagrams are especially helpful in understanding the overlap and differences of various expressions of neurodivergence.
- ADDitude - Since 1998, ADDitude has collaborated with leading medical experts to provide guidance for living better with ADHD. Please note, that the medical approach may not always align with the neurodiversity movement.
- Spectrum - Spectrum offers current research and up-to-date information about autism. Spectrum is an editorially independent division of the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI).
- NeuroClastic - The Autism Spectrum, according to neurodivergent people. NeuroClastic is a non-profit managed by volunteers, providing no-cost, ad-free, high-quality articles, by autistic writers and professionals.
- CHADD - Founded in 1987, Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) is an organization that provides education, advocacy, and support for individuals with ADHD and their families.
- NeuroQueer - Dr. Nick Walker, professor of psychology at CIIS, provides resources to understand Neurodiversity and the Neurodiversity movement, from an intersectional lens of existentialism, social justice, and philosophy.
- FocusMate - Virtual coworking (body-doubling) for getting work, chores, and tasks done in 25, 50, and 75-minute sessions. Focusmate is free for up to 3 sessions per week. Option to upgrade to unlimited sessions for $10/month.
- Ask Jan - JAN stands for Job Accommodation Network. This website can provide helpful information while considering accommodations you may need for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, or Learning Disability.
