Who Can Receive Services

Employee Assistance services are available to UC Berkeley faculty, staff, visiting scholars, post-doctoral appointees, their partners/spouses and adult family dependents. Employee Assistance services are also available to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory employees, their partners/spouses and adult family dependents.

Problem Assessment

Employee Assistance provides a safe space in which to discuss challenges and stressors, set priorities, and identify relevant campus and community resources. After a careful assessment, we will work collaboratively with you to address the issues you would like to work on.

Referral

We can assist you in finding providers with experience that aligns with your treatment goals.

Employee Assistance has an extensive directory of resources to draw from when connecting you to support in the community. In addition, we have identified and liaised with qualified mental health and chemical dependency resources covered by the faculty and staff UC health plans.

Elder Care Program

The Elder Care Program offers information, support, and guidance to faculty and staff caring for or concerned about an elder needing assistance or a younger adult living with a disability. Services offered include individual counseling, referrals to community resources, monthly educational workshops, and bimonthly caregiver support groups.

Employee Assistance is a voluntary, confidential service. The counselor does not share information about you or your visits with anyone outside of Employee Assistance without your consent, or as required by law. Please note that email can be easily observed by a third party and confidentiality of email is not guaranteed.
