Matching Funds Program Update: November 1 - December 19, 2025
The Ergonomics Matching Funds Program will be placed on hold indefinitely beginning January 1, 2026.
Starting November 1, 2025 - December 19, 2025 the program matching funds for individuals will change to a maximum of up to $500 per *employee. During this period, campus departments will be matched at a rate of 50 percent of the cost for approved keyboards and mice, and 25 percent of the cost for approved chairs and desks. Employees may apply the matching funds to either their campus or remote work location or divide between both.
*Must be a UC Berkeley employee (faculty, staff, Postdoc, GSR) receiving payment from the university and with job tasks involving the use of computer work for the university to be eligible. Postdocs and GSRs are only eligible for Matching Funds usage for campus workstations.
Funding for this program is limited. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications that are incomplete or provide insufficient supporting documentation may be delayed in processing or denied matching funds. The application deadline will be December 19, 2025.
Additionally, employees must still complete the online RSS Computer Ergonomics training and self-assessment module for Ergo Matching Funds program eligibility, and should request an evaluation with a campus ergonomist for additional support regarding setting up and/or adjusting workstations as well as recommendations for ergonomic furniture and equipment.
Although the Matching Funds Program will be put on indefinite hold, BWAW - Ergonomics will continue to provide support to departments and employees with evaluations/consultations, recommendations, and acquisition of ergonomic furniture, equipment quotes and *purchase processing in BearBuy.
*Departments are not advised to purchase ergonomic furniture/equipment outside the scope of BWAW - Ergonomics as the products we approve and recommend align to UC and campus ergonomic standards and are supported by UC system contracts.
Ergo Project Matching Funds
Due to limited remaining funding, the Ergo Project Matching Funds program will be discontinued indefinitely starting November 1, 2025.
