2Students who would like to purchase SHIP for the month of August 2025: The enrollment period is from July 1, 2025, to August 1, 2025. To request enrollment, contact our Enrollment & Waiver Coordinator, Sheila Edwards, at sheilaedwards@berkeley.edu during the enrollment period.

3GSI/GSR who graduated in the spring/summer semester and are employed at UC Berkeley beginning September 1, 2025 may enroll in SHIP for the month of August 2025. The enrollment period is from July 1, 2025, to August 1, 2025. To request enrollment, contact our Enrollment & Waiver Coordinator, Sheila Edwards, at sheilaedwards@berkeley.edu during the enrollment period.

SHIP Benefits

  • Eligibility: Voluntary SHIP is available for the dependents of students enrolled in SHIP. Please visit our Insurance for Dependents webpage to find out who is eligible.
  • To enroll dependents, create an account or sign in here to complete and submit the online enrollment form during your program's enrollment period. Note: Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 0.5 units for the summer term to be eligible for SHIP and to add their dependents onto SHIP. If the student is not enrolled in classes and SHIP, the request for dependent enrollment will be denied.
