To save you time and frustration, please take a moment to review these helpful steps. Most errors encountered during the waiver process can be avoided by following these simple instructions.

Note: This page is for LLM (executive track) students and new/returning summer graduate students in the programs indicated below. Students, who are enrolled in the current spring semester with an approved Spring 2026 waiver, do not need to apply for a summer waiver as the Spring 2026 waiver is valid through July 31, 2026.

SHIP Waiver Requirements

I. All plans must have health insurance that meets Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC).

Note: MEC means that your insurance covers non-emergency medical care, such as regular doctor visits and ongoing treatment-not just emergency rooms visits.

II. Coverage is currently active and the student agrees to maintain health coverage throughout the entire academic year 8/1/26 - 12/31/26 (Fall) and 1/1/27 - 7/31/27 (Spring).
