Charlene Fernandez joined UHS in 2018 as a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care. She received her BS in Psychobiology from UC Los Angeles (2007) and her MSN-FNP from Samuel Merritt University. Before joining UHS, Charlene worked in Federally Qualified Health Centers for five years. Charlene is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Sheng Hsu joined UHS in 2015 as a Nurse Practitioner. She received her BSN from Columbia University (2007) and her MSN from the University of California, San Francisco (2011). Katie Leach (she/her) joined UHS in 2019 as a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care. She received her BA in Latin American Studies from UC San Diego in 2011 and her MSN from Yale University in 2014. She started her career working in community health centers and free clinics working predominantly with marginalized communities of color. Dr. Dreana Jett joined University Health Services Primary Care in Fall 2025. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Howard University and her Doctor of Medicine from Temple University, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her Family and Community Medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco, with training at San Francisco General Hospital. At UHS, Dr. Jett practices in a collaborative, team-based model, supporting students’ physical and mental well-being through prevention, continuity of care, and whole-person medicine. Her clinical interests include reproductive and sexual health, HIV prevention and care, and LGBTQ+ health. She is an American Academy of HIV Medicine HIV Specialist and a member of the Transgender and Gender Diverse Care Team at UHS. She also has advanced training in family planning and outpatient procedures, including contraceptive and early pregnancy care. Heather Readhead, MD |
Dr. Heather Readhead joined UHS in 2018 as a physician in Primary and Urgent Care. She received her BA from Bowdoin College in Family Medicine, her MD from Penn State College of Medicine, her MPH from UCLA School of Public Health, and she completed her residency at Columbia University. Dr. Readhead also serves on the American College of Preventative Medicine's Diabetes Prevention Advisory Board. She has a special clinical interest in mental health, weight loss, women's health, preventive care, public health, and emergency disaster management. Dr. Readhead is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. |

Deborah Simon-Weisberg, MDPronouns: She/her |
Dr. Simon-Weisberg (she/her) is a Family Medicine physician who joined UHS in 2023. She practices in primary care, urgent care, and the minor procedures clinic. She also serves as the UHS Medical Director of clinical training programs and leads the development of a medical scribe program. A California native, she grew up in Fresno and earned her B.A. in Environmental Science from Barnard College, Columbia University, and her M.D. from The George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her internship at Ventura County Medical Center and her residency at Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center. Dr. Simon-Weisberg has extensive experience in full-scope family medicine, including labor and delivery and newborn care, primarily in safety-net settings. Prior to UHS, she was a Family Medicine Residency Program Director at a local community health center. Her clinical focus includes primary care, reproductive and gender-affirming care, substance use disorders, and minor procedures. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Simon-Weisberg is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. |

David Turnoff, MD |
Dr. David Turnoff joined UHS in 2013 as a physician in Primary and Urgent Care. Dr. Turnoff received his BS and BSE from the University of Pennsylvania and his MD from Case Western Reserve University. Having worked in student health services at both New York University and Columbia University, Dr. Turnoff comes to UHS with a wealth of college population experience. He has a special clinical interest in infectious disease, musculoskeletal injuries, travel medicine, and preventive medicine. Dr. Turnoff is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. |
