Allison Aiken, MD |

Gabriela Baeza, MD |
Dr. Gabriela Baeza joined UHS in 2023 as a Primary Care Physician. Dr. Baeza received a BA in Liberal Arts with a major in Philosophy, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1994. She worked for the Social Security Administration and the Alzheimer's Association before returning to graduate education to undertake her studies in medicine. Dr. Baeza received her medical degree in 2010 from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her medical specialty training in Family Medicine in 2013. Her initial years of medical practice were spent teaching medical students and practicing full-spectrum family medicine at Rush University Medical Center. She later taught medical students and family medicine residents as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine at UI Hospital and Health Sciences System in her hometown, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Baeza has a special clinical interest in women's reproductive health, depression, anxiety, and helping underserved populations. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, mild-to-moderate intensity hikes, searching for good eats, and spending time with family and friends. |

Miriam Dunham, MD |
Dr. Miriam Dunham joined UHS in 2021 as a physician in Primary care. Born and raised in Berkeley, CA, she received her BA in MCB here at Cal and received her MD at Drexel University Medical School in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her residency at Contra Costa Family Medicine at UC Davis. Later, she joined Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, where she started their Family Medicine Clinic. While in Oakland, Dr. Dunham also assisted in opening the Kaiser Student Health Center on the campus of Mills College. Dr. Dunham has a special interest in Lifestyle Medicine, which focuses on a person’s day-to-day behaviors such as a healthy diet, exercise, sleep, social connectivity, and stress reduction. Apart from work, Dr. Dunham enjoys spending time with her husband and their lovely, energetic twin girls. In addition to playing outdoors, they love making art projects, cooking, having dance parties, and sharing in laughter. Dr. Dunham is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. |

Montida Fleming, MD |
Dr. Mai Fleming joined UHS in 2020 as a physician in Primary Care. She received her MD from Sydney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed her Family and Community Medicine residency at UCSF. In addition to working at UHS, Dr. Fleming is part-time faculty at the UCSF Family and Community Medicine residency program at SFGH (both in the hospital and primary care clinic). She also practices in the addiction medicine clinic. Dr. Felming helps coordinate reproductive health training for Bay Area family medicine residents and travels to low-resource areas to provide reproductive health care. She also volunteers at a clinic focused on care for sex workers. Dr. Fleming has a special clinical interest in reproductive health care and family planning, addiction medicine, homelessness, and care across the gender spectrum. Dr. Fleming is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. |

Amy Hockenbrock, MD Pronouns: She/her Associate Medical Director |
Dr. Amy Hockenbrock is a board-certified family medicine physician with a certificate of added qualification in primary care sports medicine. Dr. Hockenbrock’s interests include sports medicine, LGBTQ care, and women's care. Dr. Hockenbrock was an undergraduate at UC Berkeley where she studied Molecular and Cell Biology and led Cal’s women’s soccer team to multiple playoff berths from 1996 through 2000. She received her M.D. from Chicago Medical School and then returned to San Jose for residency and primary care sports medicine fellowship at O’Connor Hospital. Following fellowship, Dr. Hockenbrock was an attending physician at Family Medicine Associates of San Jose before joining West Coast Sports Institute. From 2018-2019 she worked for Planned Parenthood as Interim Transgender Program Director for the Mar Monte region. Through this experience, she was able to combine her sports medicine knowledge with her expertise in transgender care. Dr. Hockenbrock recently rejoined the Cal community as an Associate Team Physician, bringing her skills in sports medicine and gender-affirming care to UC Berkeley. |

Dr. Annie Hope joined UHS in 2009 as a physician in Primary Care. Dr. Hope received her BA from Harvard University (1986), and her MD from UC Los Angeles (1994), and completed her Family Practice residency at Moses Cone (1998). When she isn't working, you can find Dr. Hope hiking, reading, or driving her children (all five) to after-school activities. Dr. Hope is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. |

Melissa Lemp, DO Pronouns: She/her |
Upon completing her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, Melissa pursued her medical education at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine. Subsequently, she undertook her internship and residency at Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota, specializing in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. As a recipient of the National Health Service Corp Scholarship, she discharged her medical school debt through service at an underserved health care clinic in South St. Louis. This period was particularly demanding as her husband was a resident physician and they were raising three children. Following this, they relocated to the apple country of Washington State before recently settling in California. Throughout her career, Melissa has been involved in community health clinics and has taken pleasure in educating medical students in both Washington State and California. Her clinical expertise centers on older teenagers transitioning to young adults who are navigating the challenges of maintaining good health during their college or graduate school years and as they transition into the adult world. She provides medical support for issues such as anxiety, stress, eating changes, inattention, and substance use. Furthermore, Melissa possesses a deep understanding of the hormonal influences related to sexuality, which can impact dermatological, endocrinological, and sports medicine-related bodily changes. Dr. Melissa Lemp is certified by the American Academy of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. |

Heather Readhead, MD |
Dr. Heather Readhead joined UHS in 2018 as a physician in Primary and Urgent Care. She received her BA from Bowdoin College in Family Medicine, her MD from Penn State College of Medicine, her MPH from UCLA School of Public Health, and she completed her residency at Columbia University. Dr. Readhead also serves on the American College of Preventative Medicine's Diabetes Prevention Advisory Board. She has a special clinical interest in mental health, weight loss, women's health, preventive care, public health, and emergency disaster management. Dr. Readhead is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. |

Deborah Simon-Weisberg, MD Pronouns: She/her/hers |
Dr. Simon-Weisberg (she/her) is a Family Medicine doctor who joined UHS in 2023. You can find her in primary care, urgent care, and the minor procedures clinic. She is the UHS Medical Director of clinical training programs, as well as the Project Lead for a developing medical scribe program. Dr. Simon-Weisberg is a California native and grew up in Fresno. She received a B.A. in Environmental Science from Barnard College, Columbia University, and an MD from The George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her Family Medicine internship at Ventura County Medical Center and her Family Medicine residency at the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center. Dr. Simon-Weisberg spent most of her career practicing full-scope family medicine including hospital-based labor and delivery and newborn care in safety net healthcare settings. She also spent many years engaging in medical education and academic medicine. Before joining UHS, she was working at a local community health center, where she served as the Family Medicine Residency Program Director. Dr. Simon-Weisberg’s clinical focus at UHS includes primary care, reproductive health, gender-affirming care, substance use disorders, and minor procedures. She is fluent in Spanish and English. Dr. Simon-Weisberg’s medical practice is informed by the recognition that “whole person well being” is impacted by an individual’s mind, body, lived experiences, community and structural barriers or structural advantages. Dr. Simon-Weisberg finds joy and mental health benefits from dancing Hip-Hop, Salsa, and Son. Dr. Simon-Weisberg is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. |
