What does drunk friend’s kiss and “I Love You” mean?

February 24, 2014

Last week, my friend called me and she was incredibly drunk, so I rushed out to take care of her. I let her stay over because she looked like she couldn’t even walk straight. I was planning to let her stay in my bed while I slept on the couch, but she would start whining and crying. She asked me to stay with her, so I sat on the bed. Then she kissed me and told me she loved me. Immediately afterwards, she fell asleep. I’m not sure what happened, but when I asked her if she remembered anything from last night, and she said she didn’t remember. What just happened?

If you are curious about her feelings for you, perhaps it is better to reword your question to her. Instead of asking her if she “remembered anything from last night,” ask her if she has any romantic feelings for you. If she doesn’t, maybe she was just meant she “loves you” as a friend. People have lower inhibition when they are drunk, and perhaps that makes her more affectionate. If she does have feelings for you, find out if you return those feelings towards her. The actions people take when they are under the influence can lead to negative consequences. However, sometimes it helps people feel braver to say what they want to say. Hope this helps! Best of luck, darling. –Jam
