I’m starting to feel like I’m not owning up to my mistakes. I constantly regret it when things go wrong and my expectations fall apart. What should I do?
Hi there, I think you’re taking a major step here simply by being aware that you’re not owning up to your mistakes. To take responsibility for your own life, blaming others for your mistakes, or even blaming yourself consistently isn’t healthy. It’s natural to regret sometimes, but try not to drown yourself in these disappointments and instead use that time for more positive thoughts. Sometimes it may take multiple tries before you can realize what could have been done better, and that’s okay! Be open to other peoples’ advice, remind yourself that there’s no secret ingredient to making life perfect, and above all, be gentle with yourself. It might seem like some people know what they’re doing more so than others, but truthfully we’re all figuring ourselves out day by day so embrace your mistakes, move at your own pace and I have no doubt you will learn to trust yourself better. –Laura
