| Emergency contraception | The Morning After Pill, used for emergency contraception (not birth control) needs to be taken within 72-120 hours of unprotected intercourse or a broken condom. (It is most effective if taken within 72 hours.) If you cannot wait for UHS to open, check online for pharmacies that provide emergency contraception. Also, see Pregnancy Options: Medical, Counseling, and Educational Services. |

| Insurance referrals | No referral is required for visits to an emergency room or urgent care center when UHS is closed. Please present your student health insurance card to the facility. Claims submitted to insurance will be processed in accordance with the SHIP benefits. All follow-up care must be approved in advance by the Student Health Insurance Plan Office. |
