Transition/Continuity of Behavioral Health Care

For Fall 2019: If care is currently being provided to a member by a provider not in the new network, the member or the provider can request coverage for continuity of care. For behavioral health, standard transition/ continuity of care is authorized for 90 days with current provider, thus allowing time for the member to find a participating provider with or without Blue Shield's assistance, or to decide they want to remain with their current provider and pay the out-of-network costs. To request a consideration for continuity of behavioral care, please use the form and instructions under "Transition/Continuity of Care Resources" above. This form will be available in the next 1-2 weeks. Thank you for your patience.
