Accessibility

University Health Services is dedicated to providing accessible services to our campus community and those that are visiting us for services. The information below will help guide you through available resources as you plan your visit.

Campus Transportation and Parking Accessibility

All disabled and non-reserved spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis to disabled patrons with certified disabled persons parking placards or license plates. For further information on Disabled Parking, visit the Parking and Transportation webpage and see the  Accessible Parking Map

At University Health Services, we have Disabled Parking spaces in our Urgent Care parking lot entrance on Durant Ave.

Loop Service

The Loop is a golf cart that provides intra-campus rides for eligible faculty, staff, and students with disabilities on a first-come, first-served basis. The Loop only operates on the core campus. Those eligible must apply for access at the DAC website

The closest Loop Service drop-off to the Tang Center is the Haas Pavilion.

Wheelchairs

UHS is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available at the front information desk in the lobby for visitor use on a first-come, first-served basis. The building has an elevator that serves all floors.

Service Animals

Service Dogs are always allowed on campus grounds and buildings; pets and Emotional Support Animals should not be brought into campus buildings but may be brought onto campus grounds if they are on a leash and under control. Please refer to our Animals on Campus Policy for further information.

UC Berkeley staff can also refer to information about Emotional Support Animals for University Employees and the accommodation request process.

Support for hearing-and speech-impaired

The 711 CA Relay Service provides technological support for hearing- and speech-impaired individuals to communicate via telephone.

Appointment Accommodation Request

You can now request disability accommodations when making your appointment on eTang. Once you have submitted the form, our staff will reach out to you about your request prior to your appointment. You are also welcome to request accommodations when making an appointment in person or over the phone. The scheduler will escalate your request and a staff member will follow up with you before your appointment. For any questions, please contact HPromo@berkeley.edu or call 510-642-7202.
