Annual Cal for the Cure Cancer Awareness Walk
On Wednesday, May 23, UC Berkeley faculty and staff celebrated the third annual, system-wide UC Walks event to raise awareness for committing to walk a minimum of 30 minutes a day as part of National Employee Health and Fitness Month.
Over 600 staff, faculty, and retirees walked a total of 18,390 minutes or 1,226 miles. That's the equivalent of 47 marathon distances walked or the distance from Berkeley, California to Chicago, IL! (A marathon is 26.2 miles.)
