Happy New Year! Be Well at Work – Faculty/Staff Health Programs is offering a vast array of workshops, classes and programs this spring to prevent injuries and promote health improvement. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
National Work and Family Month, established in 2003 and celebrated every October, focuses on the challenges working families face every day and is designed to communicate and celebrate the progress towards creating healthier and more flexible work environments. This month provides an important reminder of the power of work/life programs and policies to attract, retain and motivate employees and the business benefits of supporting work/life effectiveness programs.
Every fall, the campus holds an annual memorial event to recognize the faculty/academics, staff, students, emeriti faculty, and staff retirees who died in the past year. This event will take place on Monday, September 18th from 12-1pm at the flagpole west of California Hall. The program includes brief remarks and a reading of the names of those who are being remembered, followed by music and spoken word.
Managers and supervisors have an important role to create a healthy work environment, helping the staff they supervisor to perform at their best. Be Well at Work –Wellness Program has resources to help you with this responsibility.
