Meet the Covid Response Team

Ismail Jazbhay

Ismail Jazbhay was previously working as a contact tracer at the Contra Costa County Department of Public Health. He also has experience working as a health screener/health coach and within orthopedic and surgical nursing in hospital settings. Ismail received his diploma in Environmental Health from the Durban Institute of Technology and his BSN from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He was also trained as an Integrative Health Coach at Duke University.

More recently, Ismail received contact tracing training from John’s Hopkins Bloomsberg School of Public Health and participated in a COVID case investigation from UCLA. He has a clinical interest in communicable disease, holistic health promotion/disease prevention, and LGBTQ sexual health. Ismail loves to travel - he’s visited 13 countries thus far and has lived on three different continents.

Brandon Stroud

Brandon received his BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina. And MS in Higher Education Administration from the University of Rochester. Brandon is also a Perinatal Yoga Instructor and currently training to become a Full Spectrum Doula.

Janie Thao

Janie received her BS in Public Health from San Jose State University. 

Janie has 3 cats named Buddy, Bella, and Bean. She enjoys attending concerts and music festivals.
