Outreach and Workshop Requests

CAPS frequently does outreach to the campus for student groups, academic departments, and administrative units.

The goal of this outreach is to demystify counseling, educate the campus on mental health issues, and to help others know our counselors. Although staffing for outreach is limited, we do our best to accommodate requests.

NOTICE:

As of 10/12/20 CAPS  is no longer  able to accept non-crisis related outreach requests for the Fall semester.  Please feel free to contact us to discuss outreach programs for the Spring and other resources that might be helpful.

Programs offered

We are usually able to tailor these programs for your specific group and time constraints:
  • Demystifying CAPS: Learn more about what CAPS offers and how to use services
  • Gatekeeper Training: Training for faculty, staff and GSIs on how to help distressed students
  • Suicide Awareness and Intervention Training: More in-depth training on how to prevent suicide
  • Stress-management and wellness in a diverse world
  • De-escalation Techniques and Supporting a Student in Crisis
