Guy Nicolette, MD, was named the associate vice chancellor for University Health Services at UC Berkeley in 2022 after serving as the assistant vice chancellor since 2019. In his role, he oversees student health and faculty/staff well-being services, prevention and outreach programs. In addition, he leads advocacy and partnership efforts across campus to actively cultivate better health and wellbeing for the entire community of over 60,000. Dr. Nicolette brings substantial experience in leadership as well as clinical care, teaching and research. Through this experience and his transformative leadership style, UHS has implemented a robust Strategic Plan and vision for University Health. He also is Chair of the campus Public Health Committee and the Healthy Campus Initiative Steering Committee.
Prior to joining UC Berkeley, Dr. Nicolette served as the director of student health at the University of Florida in Gainesville, a campus with over 55,000 students, 16 academic colleges, and more than 150 research centers and institutes. Guy also served as a team physician, the director of the University of Florida's Primary Care Sports Medicine Program, and medical co-director of their Undergraduate Athletic Training program.
Dr. Nicolette received his medical degree from the University of Texas and completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma. He is board-certified in Family Medicine, as well as Primary Care Sports Medicine. He also continues to provide clinical care to students and student-athletes.
