University Health Services employs over 300 people.

This includes physicians, psychiatrists, consulting medical specialists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, health educators, psychologists, social workers, and a variety of other health professionals and support staff.

In addition to paid staff, approximately 400 UC Berkeley students and over 50 community volunteers participate in UHS peer, intern, and volunteer programs.

As a national collegiate leader, University Health Services (UHS) at UC Berkeley provides comprehensive medical, mental health, insurance, and health promotion services to all UC Berkeley students and a variety of health programs for faculty and staff.

Approximately 65,000 visits occur annually including Primary Care, Urgent Care, Occupational Health, and Specialty Clinics. Services are designed to minimize the impact of illness, emotional distress, and injury on studies and work. Coupled with health promotion and public health programs, UHS reaches all segments of the UC Berkeley campus community.

UC Berkeley students from all over campus can learn about the healthcare industry by volunteering at UHS. We offer a variety of programs that students can participate in including: 1) Peer Education Programs, 2) Volunteer Programs, and Student Advisory Boards.

Thank you for your interest in the training programs available at University Health Services. We offer a doctoral internship program which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and a postdoctoral fellowship, which is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). In addition, we have a nationally recognized two-year Post-MSW Fellowship in Clinical Social Work and a Career Counseling Internship.
