Climb the Campanile
8-Week Incentive Program

June 15 - August 7, 2009

Climb the Campanile is an 8-week incentive program for faculty and staff sponsored by Health*Matters. The goal is to achieve 30 minutes of activity a day, or 10,000 steps a day (if you have a pedometer), 5 days a week. You can keep track of your minutes OR steps on the activity logs and measure your progress on the Campanile Map. See if you can reach the top of the Campanile on your map by the end of the program! Each week you will receive a newsletter by email with healthy tips and ideas, healthy recipes, and motivation for adding activity to your day. You will also have many opportunities to win a variety of prizes.

Getting Started

  • Step 1 - Register online at:

    Following registration, you will receive your program materials and instructions by email. Your Welcome Packet will contain your Weekly Tracking Logs and Campanile Map. You MUST register to be eligible to win any prizes.

  • Step 2 - Program starts on June 15

    On Wednesday, June 15, 2009 start recording the minutes of activity you complete each day. Or, if you use a pedometer, record the number of steps you take.

Prizes

There are a number of ways to earn prizes during this program. You can:

  • Register - Everyone gets something! When you register you will be offerred a choice of a Healthy Monday Memo Board, Grocery Tote, or Step Up to Fitness Drawstring Backpack.
  • Read - Read the weekly newsletter to be entered into a prize drawing. Drawings will be held on a weekly basis. Win items such as pedometers, exercise bands, or gift cards!
  • Track - Track your activity on your logs and return them to the program coordinator for a chance to win an free massage. There will be one winner at the 4-week drawing and one at the 8-week drawing.
  • Achieve - If you achieve the goal of the program and climb all the way to the top of the Campanile on your map, you will be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing!

Health* Matters Walking Group
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (Year-Round), 12:10 pm,
**Due to construction during the Summer, the Walking Group will meet across the street from the West side of the Campanile.

The Walking Group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:10 by the South side of the Campanile. Led by Walking Leaders, the Health*Matters Walking Group takes you on different routes through campus and accommodates all levels of fitness walkers, from moderate to brisk. Enjoy the benefits of walking by taking a 30-35 minute walk through campus with your colleagues.
