Health*Matters Fall Programs 2009Healthy Mondays: Wellness
Incentive Program Make every Monday the day to start and sustain healthy behaviors. Use this 8-week program to help set and track simple goals that will focus on quick, healthy, and budget-friendly meals. Registered participants will receive a Healthy Monday Memo Board, Everyday Healthy Meals recipe book and a weekly email with tips, updates, and encouragement. Dancing for Fitness Fit some fun and fitness into your day with these free,
beginner dance classes including ballet, belly dancing, hip hop, salsa
and more. No partner required. Enroll at UCB Learning Center. Know Your Numbers Health Screening
($10 fee) Know Your Numbers is a fasting health screening for total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, glucose, blood pressure, and optional body mass index (BMI), waist circumference and body fat. Receive your confidential results immediately and attend Leading a Healthy Lifestyle (optional workshop) to gain a better understanding of your results and resources. Enroll at UCB Learning Center. Leading a Healthy Lifestyle workshop Gain a better understanding of specific diet and exercise habits to reduce your health risks and the resources available to you. This workshop is a good first step following Know Your Numbers health screening. Enroll at UCB Learning Center. Step Up to Fitness Pedometer
Program Find out how you can fit fitness into your day and be physically active by walking 10,000 steps wearing a pedometer. Participants will have an opportunity to purchase an Accusplit AE2720STEP pedometer for sale, $7 (tax included, cash or check only). Enroll at UCB Learning Center. Quick & Healthy Lunches Demonstration of simple lunch recipes and samples will be provided.

fee) This 6-week action-based program jumpstarts you into a healthy lifestyle. Includes fitness and nutrition assessments, weekly group workout with a personal trainer, class sessions with the registered dietitian and an Accusplit pedometer. Participants are encouraged to walk at least three times a week. Enroll at UCB Learning Center. FUNctional Fitness Free, Use your own body weight, No equipment needed. Learn exercises to energize and improve your ability to move with budget-friendly strength and flexibility routines that can be done anywhere, anytime. Participants will receive an exercise band and a guide for different types of workouts. Enroll at UCB Learning Center. Restorative Yoga Introduction In this introductory class, participants will learn
how Restorative Yoga encourages a state of deep relaxation using simple
poses that can be done anywhere. Enroll at UCB Learning Center. Quick & Healthy Dinners Get fresh ideas for delicious meals that are inexpensive,
healthy and quick to prepare for the working adult and busy family.

for RSF members, $65 for non-members) Learn life-saving CPR and receive certification from the
