3. Soften sharp edges

• Alimed (1-800-225-2610) offers several designs of soft vinyl foam that can be positioned directly on the front edge of the work surface to soften the edge.
• WorkRite offers a desktop edge that attaches to the counter with supplied Velcro.

4. Changing microscope height

• If the microscope is lightweight, stackable risers may be sturdy enough to help change the height.
• Place the microscope on a Monitor Mate lifter. Adjustable from 3 ¾” to 10 ¾” above the desk.
• Angle the microscope forward by using an empty 2-inch binder. The microscope should be strapped down with Q-Brace straps.
• Purchase user adjustable furniture.

5. Forearm support

• Place a gel pad wrist rest along the sides of the microscope to reduce using awkward wrist and forearm postures while working with specimens under the microscope.
• Alimed offers the microscope forearm support and Ergorest arm support.
