Stress and Anxiety: Medical, Counseling and Educational ServicesStress
and anxiety are unavoidable as a student. However, at times, it can become a problem:
- Do you have trouble managing the demands of school, work or relationships?
- Are
you so stressed that you can barely study, work, eat?
- Do you become so
anxious during exams that you blank out and can't think clearly?
- Do you
have panic attacks that come on suddenly and out of the blue?
Tang
Center offers the following services that can be of help. Note: Mills students

Appointments:
counseling | Counselors
at Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) are skilled at assessing stress
and anxiety and can help determine what would be helpful in your situation. Brief
counseling is available at CPS to help you learn strategies to manage your stress
and anxiety and help you sort out difficulties that may be contributing factors.
We will help you find referrals in the community if this counseling is not right
for you. Call 642-9494 to make first-time appointments
at CPS. If your stress and anxiety is of an urgent nature, ask to see the

health education | Health
educators work in a confidential setting to help students in learning stress management
techniques. Call 642-2000 to schedule an appointment. | Appointments:
medical | Call 642-2000
to schedule an appointment with a clinician if you are experiencing physical symptoms
that may be related to stress or anxiety, such as but not limited to, headaches,
stomach distress, palpitations. | Medications
| Medications can sometimes
be helpful in the case of chronic or acute anxiety. Talk to a counselor at CPS
about what you are experiencing. Referrals can be made to psychiatrists for an
evaluation for medication. Call 642-9494 to speak to a counselor about medication

second floor, Tang Center which has a number of books, audiotapes, educational
handouts on stress management and anxiety. Also see online health topic:
