Depression: Medical, Counseling and Educational Services
Everyone feels down at times. The break-up of a relationship or a poor
test grade can make you feel in low spirits. Sometimes we feel sad for
no apparent reason. However, depression is different from shifting moods.
It can interfere with your day to day activities, affect you socially,
academically, and in severe cases, can lead to feeling suicidal.
Unfortunately, depression is frequently ignored or untreated. Students
often are reluctant to get help, believing that they should be able
to solve their problems on their own or they feel apprehensive about
counseling for other reasons. Many times the depression itself can prevent
people from taking steps to help themselves. This is unfortunate because
depression is treatable. Tang Center offers the following services that
can be of help.
