Cal Walks for the Cure
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, 12:10-1 pm, Campanile (south side)
Please join us for the annual campus walk to raise breast cancer awareness
and support for campus members who have been touched by breast cancer.
The walk will be followed by a short reception at the Campanile. No
enrollment required. Call 643-3434 for more information or see Cal
Walks for the Cure for photos of past walks and breast health education
resources.
Bay Area's Rival 10 College Challenge
Sunday, November 15, 2009 in San Francisco
Use the Health*Matters Walking Group as a way to train for the 5K/10K
walk/run and earn points to help CAL win! Proceeds benefit the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation and local universities. Visit http://www.rival10.com

Health*Matters Walking Group
Walking on campus is convenient, free and a pleasure with the many scenic
locations for a rejuvenating walk. The Health*Matters Walking Group
meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12:10 - 1:00 pm at the Campanile
(southside). Come join the walk to fit 30-40 minutes of walking into
your work day for the benefits of social support, stress relief, and
renewed energy. No enrollment required. Check
the Walking Group webpage for special events and community walks
for various causes.

Strawberry Canyon Walking Tour
See
Strawberry Creek - A Walking Tour of Campus Natural History, a 20-page
guide on about Strawberry Creek and its history, fish pools, the Eucalyptus
Grove and lots, lots more.
Campus Walking Tours
Free, guided campus walking tours, led by expert student guides,
take place daily, seven days a week, rain or shine, excluding some university

WALKING RESOURCES
You will find a variety of educational materials and resources on exercise/fitness
covering such topics as fitness walking techniques, warm up and stretches,
exercise planner, exercise injuries, finding your target heart rate,
and walking in different weather conditions.
